Knitted bike covers

Knitted or crochetted covers on bikes as decoration in Des Moines for Ragbrai this year. I like how they removed cables, front ders, chains and maybe cable stops to clean up the bikes before the installations.  Just a couple of who knows how many.



"We shows girls love on Valentine's Day, and they let us blow things up on the Fourth of July. I just pray they never fall on the same day."  HS.

Good for a coaster brake bike, but might get a little dicey in hard turns...

Been informed this is called "Yarn Bombing" along with some other names.  A form of public graffiti that is illegal in some jurisdictions and considered as littering by some.  But it keeps old ladies busy knitting.

Now here is a much better attempt, they even did the rims and spokes:
