King-SCHwing-A-ling..1962 Schwinn King Size American

hey guys and gals..been awhile since I last visited..thought I would share a bike I built back in the summer..it started life as a 1962 Schwinn King Size American..I've always wanted one of these..got it as a frame/fork package..added my own flare including chomre 57mm wheels..full on House of Kolor kandy Apple red..NOS Bendix 2-speed..custom covered seat..look for this bike in an upcoming feature in Kustomized Bicycle Magazine..enjoy!!

Those are fat bike wheels, correct? It looks like there is plenty of clearance -- did you have any issues? --Ron

Those would be fat bike RIMS, spoked up on the regular hubs for the Schwinn.

Fat bike rims come in different widths (45 to 110 mm). That's up to 4. 1/4" just for the rim.

Fat bike hubs have a much wider old (outside locknut dimension) and would not fit.

It's a beaut.  I like the red alloy nipples for contrast.

Very nicely done down to the smallest detail. It's faster because it's red.  ;) The King size frames are hard to find.
