That is, of course, the plan, but until then I feel a bit embarrassed to have a chain screaming at me and dirt all over everything. I admit she is definitely a bottom-of-the-barrel bicycle in terms of quality, but I've been commuting for two years now and am very happy with Zoomie. For what she is, she's done very well.

No high pressure. You can force water into any crevice and even wash grease from the bearings!   :(

Be glad you didn't buy a Magna (Dynacraft POS) or a Huffy, it wouldn't have lasted this long.

I use car wax on bikes.  You can use any kitchen cleaner like Formula 409 or Orange Blast to get the dirt and grease off the paint.  Wipe down, let dry.  Any modern car wax works well.   Follow the instructions on the label.  Wax helps keep the dirt off and makes it easier to wipe any dirt off so it just stays cleaner.

Me, too, on both paint and chrome. I use white polishing compound to clean the finish and remove rust stains from chrome, followed by Meguiar's Cleaner Wax. Results are usually great.
