My 1972 OSSA Mick Andrews Replica (MAR) 250cc Trials motorcycle
« on: November 22, 2012, 11:04:54 AM »
Photo from today. This is my 1972 OSSA MAR TRIALS (Mick Andrews Replica) 250cc. This motorcycle was made in Barcelona. - I last rode this one in the 1998 AHRMA VINTAGE TRIALS NATIONAL at Mid-Ohio where I placed 2nd overall in the 1A class (Expert) - It's been sitting on a pedestal covered with blankets for 14 years.. Got it out this week, going to put on new tires, service it and get it running again.

Very cool!

My Dad has some pics of Mick Andrews doing a trials demo locally in about that time-frame.

Congrats,

Bob

Zombie thread revision  8)
My 1972 OSSA MAR 250
I've owned this bike for more than 20 years, finally thia past November 2016 I got around to repainting the bodywork. The tank is NOS but was for the OSSA 350 model.

I had the stickers for 20 years as well. White is basically white so that was easy. For the green, we started with John Deere formula and tinted it a little. The gold stripes are 3M tape, not hand painted like the original. All in acrylic urethane catalyzed single stage, not BC/CC

LOL - From my OP of this thread, it took me four years to finally get around to the new tires... I put new Michelin trials tires on it as the Original Pirelli tires were hard as a rock. While I had the wheels off, I put new "Newfren" sintered brake shoes. Now it almost stops :)

It is a static museum display since I last rode it in the summer of 1998. Too nice to ride now I suppose. Especially now that the tank and side covers are done.
