Which S7 whitewall tire ?
« on: July 17, 2012, 06:55:47 PM »
I have used the Cheng Shin 26 x 2 x 1-3/4" and they do a nice job of filling the fenders.  Any of you ever try the Sunlite version with the same 26 x 2 x 1-3/4" specs?  Here's a link to Niagra Cycle's website. The Sunlite are a few bucks cheaper so was curious if anyone has used them before.

The Sunlite's appear to be the Kenda's. The ones that are not the 2" are noticeably smaller and I've heard the Cheng Shin are a tad larger than the 26 x 2 x 1 3/4 Kendas.

Gary,
Yup the non 2" are way too narrow for my liking, so I was wondering if the Sunlite's really were 2" as spec'd. Will probably just go with the CS since I know what I'll be getting. Thanks for your input.

the kenda 26x2x1/34 tires are great.i use these on most of my middleweights.they do fill up the fender nicely.they are also readily availible. :D

I agree about the kendas.  They work great and aren't too expensive.

So yeah I know this isn't a whitewall tire but you can get these in white or blackwall.

i have both types on a couple bikes.the cheng shin tires are a bit beefier due to the tread design.they're flat at the top and the kendas are more rounded.
